Well it has been a while since my last post. We just finished Stitches West over the weekend, and I helped out in the Yarndogs boot along with my husband winding yarn for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. A group of us are planning to walk 40 miles for breast cancer in July. This is the second year we are walking and this year i am determined to finish it. Last year I was knocked out at mile 13 when I threw my hip out. That really sucked. Anyways our group is called Knitters for Knockers, we were the one’s with tassels last year if anyone was there. I apparently was the only one who could twirl them. Here is a link to our group page should you want to donate, it would be much appreciated.
So back to Stitches West. I loved it. My mom came in to town and we walked and walked and walked. I of course had trouble deciding on anything, as there was so much I wanted. The best part I think, other than the scrumptuous yarn, was Ravelry. The passports were great. It was so fun to see all the people that had chatted online, for who knows how long, finally meet in person. People were so excited and it really made our world a smaller place. They did a great job by making you go all over for those stamps. I stopped at booths I might not have stopped at otherwise. So what did I leave with, you ask. A few patterns, and a subscription to Wild Fibers. I so wanted yarn from Brooks Farm, but again I could not decide and went back to the booth like 80 times. Next year I am determined to do 2 things. 1 – Wear something I made, and 2 – go with patterns in mind to buy yarn for.
So what have I been working on, well of course a bunch of things because my mind is going all over the place. Still working on my sisters Four Seasons Throw. Working on a Flower Patch Blanket for my friend’s daughter Mia. I’m also working on my husband’s grandma’s purse, which I have named Mocha Choca Latte. I still need to take pics of all these things so i can post them on my flikr page, Ravelry, and here. I am really slow. Other than that just doing what most other people do, work and sleep.
